Acrylic painting and other mixed media (All Media)
203-648-3138
Sheila Loughed's journey from parochial school to SoHo has been very long, challenging, and exciting. She loves her paintings and photographs to express her exuberance for life through color and texture. If Georgia O'Keefe and Jackson Pollack ever reproduced, Sheila would have been their child. Sheila was blessed with the opportunity to study art at West Connecticut State University, Springfield College, and the College of New Rochelle. Her work has been exhibited from SOHO NYC to Pal Beach and from Oregon to New Orleans.
Sheila's work is an expression of her gratitude for each day she has been given.

CLASS DESCRIPTION
The class will have as its primary focus the development of oil painting skills, techniques, and methodology. Art history and art theory will also be integrated into the lessons in order to help the individual student obtain a greater awareness of the nature of art and the creative process.
Consequently, each student will be encouraged to integrate the acquired knowledge related to oil painting skills, techniques, art history and theory into their own specific vision as that vision will be translated into individual works of arts in oils.
