Mixed Media
Leigh Hawkins
leigh39_59@yahoo.com 772-913-1117
-
Come and have fun! We will create mixed media backgrounds and collage papers using unconventional methods, including using the gel plate (mono-printing), shaving cream, bubbles, charcoal powder throwing, and marbling.
-
Here is a list of supplies – bring as many as you can – and we can share in class so don’t panic.
-
Supplies: acrylic paints, watercolor paints, masking fluid, stencils, india or acrylic inks, gel plate (if you have one) and brayer, shallow pan, and two brushes with a good point on them, and paper you can use in collage (deli, rice, magazine pages, old book pages, old dress patterns, junk mail, etc…)
-
PLEASE NOTE: for the piece of art we will be creating you will need watercolor paper that is un-sized. In other words, take your watercolor paper – let it soak for a few minutes – then let it dry flat. That should do the trick.
-
I suggest a couple pieces, in case the background messes up on the first try.
-
Smaller sizes would be appropriate (5x7).
