Brevard Cultural Alliance is proud to present its November workshop on Thursday, November 14, at 3:00 p.m., Dr. Heidi Hatfield Edwards, FIT Professor, will present “Using Social Media Strategically to Build Your Brand”, at Government Center in Viera. 

 

Social media can be excellent platforms from which to share your story and build your brand. However, we often overlook the narrative in  favor of expediency. This workshop explores storytelling techniques using social media. Learn to tell you story and reach target audiences in an ever-changing media environment.

 

About the presenter:

Heidi Hatfield Edwards, Ph.D. is professor of communication, and chair of communication programs in the School of Arts and Communication at Florida Institute of Technology. She teaches a variety of communication courses, including communication theory, mass communication and society, intro to communication, covering science and technology, and scientific and technical communication.

 

Prior to joining the faculty at Florida Tech in 2006, Edwards taught public relations at the Pennsylvania State University. She has nine years experience in communication, working in television, radio, and print media, and in public relations and marketing. Her research focuses on the cultural and societal implications of communication regarding social issues, particularly in regard to health, science and technology.
